It is normal to experience bruising, swelling, and some degree of discomfort after the surgery. These symptoms will gradually subside over time. The LVNS team will provide you with medications or recommend certain remedies to help manage pain and reduce swelling.
To support effective recovery, it’s important to avoid exerting pressure on the surgical site for several weeks. Specifically, you should refrain from sitting directly on hard surfaces and limit your sitting time to approximately 45 minutes at a time. Taking short walks every hour can help improve circulation and prevent excessive pressure on the buttocks. Sleeping on your side or abdomen will further minimize pressure on the buttocks.
After approximately 2 to 3 weeks, you may gradually resume your regular cardiovascular activities, such as light exercises or walking. However, it’s essential to check with Dr. Ahmed before engaging in any strenuous activities or exercises that could strain the buttocks.
