VASER Hi-Def liposuction is an advanced procedure that uses the latest technology in liposculpture to extract fat cells overlying abdominal muscles to accentuate a patient’s natural musculature. Fat around the abdomen is tough to lose with diet and exercise solely. Many of our clients have tried different diet and exercise trends but have been met with only limited success. This stubbornness is because abdominal fat is a special type of fat –– one that is more resistant to changes in nutrition and activity. Through expertly utilizing the best cosmetic technologies and techniques, Dr. Mustafa Ahmed has helped hundreds of patients achieve their ideal physique. From body contouring procedures to facial rejuvenation surgeries, Dr. Ahmed offers a wide range of cosmetic solutions. The first step to seeing a happier and healthier body is to schedule a personal consultation at our Las Vegas offices. If you would like to speak with us directly, please call our front desk at (702) 447-1257.

About Abdominal Fat

Many different types of diets and exercise programs focus predominantly on helping people achieve an enviable six-pack of abs. They are marketed as a way to help lose abdominal fat in a number of easy steps. However, there is no tried and true method for targeted fat loss. When we improve our diet and exercise more often, our body burns visceral fat to supply our muscles with energy and to keep them nourished.[1] However, the other type of fat, subcutaneous fat, reacts differently to diet and exercise. This type of fat rests between the muscle and the skin, acting as an insulator for heat loss and a shield against the spread of dermal infection.[2] Because this fat serves a vital purpose in the body’s processes, the brain is reluctant to burn it. So, that’s why you will still have stubborn, lingering pockets of fat around your abdomen after a weight loss journey. Resting just on top of the muscle, this blanket of fat can shroud your abdominal muscles, making them appear contourless.

About VASER Technology

Traditional liposculpture technologies have given patients satisfactory results and surgeons around the world have used them for millions of procedures. However, these approaches have typically led to underwhelming results around the abdomen. To target this hard-to-reach fat more effectively, expert surgeons have designed VASER liposuction. VASER liposuction uses gentle, high-frequency ultrasound vibrations to dislodge fat cells from their connective moorings. Once these fat cells are dislodged, they are more easily aspirated with a cannula: a thin, suctioning tube. By applying the VASER rod to the fat cells directly, surgeons can extract more fat easily and less invasively than other liposculpture approaches.[3] These benefits mean that patients can see better results with less downtime. Now, while VASER technology allows for more fat extraction, some liposculpture experts have decided to take the state-of-the-art technology one step further to bring out the target area’s full muscularity. This is the essence behind VASER Hi-Def

What Makes It “Hi-Def”?

To contour and define the abdominal muscles, Dr. Ahmed has trained with world-renowned VASER Hi-Def liposuction expert Dr. Grant Hamlet. Through his training, Dr. Ahmed has perfected the VASER Hi-Def approach. VASER Hi-Def, previously called abdominal etching, safely works closer to the individual muscles, extracting fat cells from in between the grooves in the muscle fibers. This process helps bring out each abdominal muscle as the subcutaneous layer of fat is stripped away. VASER Hi-Def is unique when compared to other liposculpture technologies because Dr. Ahmed utilizes the patient’s own subcutaneous contours to emphasize their distinct musculature and produce more dimensional body contours.[4] After the treated area has fully healed, the patient has a sculpted, well-defined six-pack.

Benefits

While traditional liposuction can help many different types of patients achieve their desired physical results, VASER Hi-Def liposuction is remarkably equipped to strip fat cells from in between and around abdominal muscles. Other benefits for VASER liposuction include:

  • Less recovery time needed
  • More fat extracted
  • Noticeable results almost immediately
  • Long-lasting results

If you are interested in a more defined abdomen in less time than traditional liposuction, please schedule a personal consultation with Dr. Ahmed by filling out this online form. A member of our team will be in contact with you shortly.

Candidates

At your initial consultation, we will determine if you are eligible for VASER Hi-Def liposuction. VASER Hi-Def is FDA-approved to treat patients who have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 or lower. VASER Hi-Def is not a weight loss surgery but rather a body contouring procedure. Patients who already lead a healthy and active lifestyle will see the best results, as this procedure will fortify their choices in the kitchen and the gym. Also, we will ask patients who use nicotine products or take blood-thinning medications to avoid use during the preparation and recovery phases.

Personal Consultation

We will begin your consultation with a brief new patient intake interview and physical examination. Then, we will inspect your abdomen, noting your skin laxity and unique musculature. Dr. Ahmed will then listen to your desired results and discern if VASER Hi-Def is the ideal approach. VASER Hi-Def can also treat other areas of the body such as the flanks, arms, hips, back, thighs, and buttocks. We can also easily combine VASER Hi-Def with other services like fat transfer and a Brazilian butt lift, so Dr. Ahmed will aim to get an overarching sense of all of your cosmetic concerns. He will use this information to construct a personalized treatment plan that will assess each of these concerns. Finally, before you leave our care, we will give you a list of preparatory measures to follow before your surgery. Since VASER Hi-Def requires general anesthesia, you will have to take steps to ensure proper preparation. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call our offices at (702) 447-1257.

Preparation

Before your VASER Hi-Def surgery, we will ask that you follow this list of preparatory steps.

  • Avoid smoking and other nicotine products as nicotine constricts blood vessels and hampers the body’s natural healing response.
  • Discontinue blood-thinning medications as these will cause excessive bleeding during your surgery.
  • Pre-fill all prescriptions beforehand. The last place you’ll want to be after your surgery is standing in line at the pharmacy.
  • Plan a ride home. You will be coming out of anesthesia after your surgery and will not be fit to drive yourself home upon leaving our care.

Procedure

Dr. Ahmed begins a VASER Hi-Def session by meeting with the patient and reviewing their personalized treatment plan. He will outline his goals and answer any last-minute questions regarding proper recovery measures. Then, we will administer the appropriate anesthesia. VASER Hi-Def requires only a minor, discreet incision to allow the VASER device to enter the abdomen subcutaneously. The VASER technology generates gentle ultrasound waves that permeate through the fat cells, causing them to dislodge from their connective tissues. Next, Dr. Ahmed runs a cannula back and forth and around each abdominal muscle to aspirate these displaced lobules. He pays extra attention to areas between the abdominal muscles, sculpting away the surrounding fat cells. Once he has achieved the patient’s desired aesthetic, he will suture the incision closed and treat any other areas in the patient’s personalized treatment plan.

Recovery

Before you leave our care, we will wrap your abdomen in a compression garment. This will help promote optimal healing and apply pressure to the treated tissue. Because the fat has been removed directly, you will notice new musculature definition as the swelling subsides. And as you continue to heal, your results will continue to improve! If you experience pain, take only the pain medication we prescribe. OTC pain medications like aspirin, Advil, and ibuprofen thin the blood and can prolong the healing process. We recommend taking the next couple of days off from work and strenuous activities to focus solely on recovery. You will be ready to resume your normal daily life in a few short weeks. During your follow-up appointments, we will note where you are in the healing process and determine if any further steps are required.
